• Fitness Is About More Than The Gym

    By The W10 Team

Everywhere you turn you will find promises to get you in shape with some secret, easy to apply formula.

The reason that most people fail/ fall off of the band wagon with their fitness trend, is because it is exactly that... A trend.

As soon as they deviate from their miracle plan once, psychologically, it’s all over for them - they revert back to making poor choices nutritionally and making excuses about why they shouldn’t exercise.

Developing an attitude where you are striving for good rather than perfect will go a long way towards you reaching your fitness goals.

Slow and steady will always win the race!

The truth is, that your fitness levels and being “in shape” is a series of literally hundreds of decisions that you make over the course of a day, not just the few hours you spend in the gym each week.

    Decisions such as:

    Protein shake or no breakfast

    Stairs or the lift

Vodka lime and soda or wine

10 minutes of stretching in front of the TV or Ben and Jerry’s on the sofa

Getting the tube to work or cycling to work

    Blueberries or a brownie

None of these single decisions will make or break you fitness goals, but when a high percentage of these decisions are made correctly then that is when the magic happens.

If you do decide you really want a brownie, then that’s fine. ENJOY THE BROWNIE, just make sure you turn the page and then make sure you make the right decision with your next options.

If your diet or you training plan isn’t something that you could honestly say, hand on heart that you could do for the rest of your life, then you need to plan what to do once you’ve either failed or quit.

    Because it will happen.

Giving yourself the opportunity to enjoy the things that you really enjoy in life is key. You absolutely do not have to completely give up (insert sugary/ fatty food/ alcohol/ sugary drinks) in order to reach your goals.

You just have to be aware that every decision you make has an impact, however it is not the be all and end all.
