Our W10 Perfomance internship will give you the opportunity to experience first hand how we work in our leading personal training gyms. Each of our interns will have the chance to coach within our system and become familiar with the intricacies of programme design, nutritional coaching and gym operations.

We work closely with our interns to develop both practical and theoretical skills, ensuring that we influence the best coaches in the business, raising the standard of coaching in the UK, and ensuring that our graduates can realise their career aspirations.

We want to influence the best coaches in the business.  Ones that we would welcome into our W10 team or would be happy to recommend to other gym owners and personal training clients.

As a W10 intern you will also have the the opportunity to attend our two weekly staff training and development meetings, which focus on technical proficiency, systems administration and improving the overall member experience.

Additionally, all of our interns will have access to all of our further continued professional development seminars and programmes, both in-house and externally, during the duration of their time with us.

Our Mission Statement

Our aim is to redesign the landscape of fitness in the UK and Europe by training and developing the best coaches around.  We want the graduates of our W10 Internship Programme to develop the knowledge and skills to go on to be leaders in the field of personal training and exercise coaching.

How it works

The W10 internship programme is a combination of online learning and in-house ‘on the floor’ coaching.  At the start of the programme our interns complete four weeks of online learning, familiarising themselves with our programming, exercise technique, our nutritional approach, and the ‘W10 way’.

Once the online segment has been completed, our interns then complete fifteen hours each week, for twelve weeks, working hands-on in our W10 gyms, delivering group classes, semi-priavte training sessions and some one-to-one training.

Interns are assigned to one of our coaches, who report to our intern programme manager, who both work closely with our interns each week to review coaching diaries and develop both technical and practical understanding across all areas.

Whats included

Our W10 intern programme is a two-hundred hour personal trainer development pathway, made up of:

  • 20 hours online learning, and
  • 180 hours in-house heads-on coaching

This format guarantees that our interns gain both the theoretical and practical understanding and experience to develop into one of the best personal trainers and exercise coaches in the business.

Our W10 interns will also get an insight and first hand experience as to the inner working in one of the most successful personal training gyms in the UK.

Before you apply

A positive attitude and strong work ethic are non-negotibales.  But we also require the following:

  • Solid interpersonal skills
  • Walking the talk (role modelling)
  • A passion for health, fitness and exercise (experience preferred, but not essential)
  • Be competent delivering dynamic warm ups
  • Feel comfortable delivering group training sessions
  • Demonstrate a knowledge of exercise techniques
  • An openness to share and learn

2016 Intakes

W10 Performance internships are offered three times per year.  The following dates represent the start of the in-house section of the programme, with the online portion starting four weeks prior.

Interns are required to complete fifteen hours per week for the duration of the in-house programme. 4th April – 26th June (6 places)
